Youth Mission Statement: The Youth of WPC will, by God’s grace, know & love God, worship God, serve God and serve others, partnering with parents, teachers, and leaders to encourage growth in God’s grace and reach our community and world with the Gospel.

Biblical Foundation: Ephesians 1:17-20

That the God of our Lord, Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him, having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places.

Themes

Theme 2014: We are Winsome

Chosen by the Father, Redeemed by the Son, Sealed by the Holy Spirit Eph. 1

Theme 2015: Live Rooted

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Galatians 5:22

Theme 2016: We have God’s promises, an anchor for the soul, a sure hope.

We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain. Hebrews 6:19

Theme 2017: In it, not of it

They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. John 17:16

Youth Leadership Goals:

*Leaders will have a passionate desire to know, love, & serve God and to share His Gospel.

*Leaders will share their passion for Jesus Christ with the youth of WPC.

*Leaders will cultivate a learning environment where our primary goal is to know the God of the Bible and glorify Him.

*Leaders will cultivate an environment that encourages all of us to be and do whatever God wants and to be willing to change those areas of our lives that God is telling us need change.

*Leaders will cultivate an environment where we all support, encourage, and lift up one another.

*Leaders will not be satisfied with entertaining our youth. We will challenge them and have high expectations for their spiritual growth.

*Whenever possible and appropriate, leaders will:

Meet one-one or in small groups with youth to provide individual shepherding, encourage deeper sharing and real connections.

*Whenever possible and appropriate, leaders will:

Attend youth events including sports, plays, music recitals, dance recitals, etc.

*Leaders will provide opportunities for our youth to serve the community.

*Leaders will provide opportunities for our youth to serve the church.

*Leaders will provide opportunities for our youth to serve on short-term mission trips.

*Leaders will provide opportunities for our youth to grow spiritually at conferences.

*Leaders will provide opportunities for our youth to take on leadership in youth group.

Student Goals:

*We will study the Word with the purpose of knowing God, love God, obeying God, treasuring God, delighting in God, and thus glorifying God.

*Through the study of God’s word, we pray God will transform us by His truth, that we may view the world through His lens and be better prepared to defend His truth and make a stand for Jesus in the world.

*Through God’s Holy Spirit at work in us, we pray we will winsomely attract unbelievers with the Gospel, bringing light, not heat, to culturally divisive issues.

*We will find something awesome about Jesus in every message, because that is the response Jesus deserves.

*We will reflect Christ, by God’s grace, in the daily living out of our lives.

*We will be the people who include others even when that is awkward.

*We will preach the Gospel to ourselves daily, choosing to believe the truth, not the lies.
